The Sad State of the Union

President Biden delivered his State of the Union address this week, and it reminded me of a Hollywood awards show with ugly people. If we listen to the liberal media’s take on the evening’s events, we hear what a great job the Biden administration is doing. Everything in the country is in great shape and on the rise. Then we flip on conservative news and they’re painting a dismal picture of the Biden administration. Nothing is working, and the nation is in decline. But we, the American people, are not brain-dead. We have a long history of figuring things out on our own. We don't need a bunch of talking heads to tell us the state of our union.

We know southern border crossings are 4 times higher in 2024 than they were in 2020. We don't need talking heads to tell us gasoline has increased 48% in the past 12 months.

Used cars and trucks have increased 35% in the past 12 months.

Energy has increased 13.5% in the past 12 months.

Airfares rose 10.7% in March, after rising 5.2% in February.

Grocery bills have been up 20% in the past 12 months.

Most importantly for most Americans, in 2020, the national gasoline average was $2.17 per gallon, and today, gas is up over $4 across the country. Clearly, these numbers don’t lie, despite what the talking heads and the White House are telling us.

The State of the Union is not good and over the past three and a half years it’s gotten worse. Much worse. Crime in our big cities is at an all-time high. Young women with their whole lives in front of them, murdered by some illegal criminal who walks across our southern border unvetted. Speaking of the southern border, the President was screaming at the State of the Union, “send me a bill, send me a bill!” We the American people know that he doesn’t need a bill. That’s nothing but a stall tactic. He could shut that border down in a New York minute with an executive order, but he won't. All those Biden-Harris tee shirts wading across the Rio Grande are potential voters.

This great nation, the nation our ancestors fought and died for. The greatest and most sucessful experiment mankind has ever known is slipping away and it's this generation's duty to stop the slide.

We don’t need Capital Hill or the talking heads to tell us the State of the Union. We the American people know the Sad State of the Union.
