I think people like Joy Reid, Joe Scarborough, Jake Tapper, and the girls on The View are totally out of touch with mainstream America. If you look at there ratings, their platforms grow smaller and smaller. Nobody's tuning in. Reid and Scarborough, Harvard. Tapper, Dartmouth, and the girls on the View might not have even finished high school. View host Sonny Hostin said on the show the other day, "I read a poll just yesterday that said that white Republican suburban women are now going to vote Republican. It's almost like roaches voting for Raid." So if suburban women want to put food on their tables and gas in their tanks at a reasonable price and keep their families safe from street thugs and their children safe from left-wing school teachers, and they think Republicans are the pathway, so be it. Hopefully, the Republicans will do something. They haven't had much of a track record since Newt Gingrich, but they are our only hope at this point because the party of Jim Crow and slavery has been failing miserably.
There needs to be some accountability. There needs to be some feet held to the fire. I don't know how much relief we will get in the short term, but at least they can stop the bleeding until 2024 comes around. After what they put President Trump through for four years, the Biden Crime Family needs to face a full congressional investigation. I hope the new Republican Congress has backbone. They haven't had one in the past.
They keep saying democracy is at stake in this election. Webster's dictionary says the definition of democracy is "a government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving periodically held free elections." Tell me how, through a fair and free election, the Republicans gaining control of the House and Senate is a threat to democracy. It’s been happening since the beginning of this nation. One party takes control, they screw things up, the people vote them out, and we take it from there. I just ask: Is our way of life in America better than it was before COVID? Let's say Trump's first three years. If your answer is no, use the ballot to voice that opinion.
All the polls indicate a red wave, and if that’s the case, I can hear that Paul Simon song now, "The nearer your destination, the more your slip slidin’ away."
